In fiscal year 2016-17, Riceville Schools made significant changes to the teacher compensation system. As they prepared to implement the Teacher Leadership & Compensation plan in FY17, they also reviewed the salary distribution system and discovered that statewide teacher pay initiatives such as Phase I, Phase II, and TSS had created equity issues in its historical step and lane system. Hear how Riceville modified its salary structure to a tier system with a focus on best meeting the needs of staff and the entire district.
