What makes a freshman transition program successful? Building relationships and engaging juniors and seniors! Algona Schools is in the third year of its freshman transition program, which connects juniors and seniors with freshmen, and features freshman orientation and ongoing social and academic follow-ups throughout the year. A small student/staff ratio helps staff connect with students and build relationships, and staff meet weekly to ensure student success. Learn how this program helped ensure 100 percent of all freshmen passed their first and second semester classes and will all start their sophomore year on track to graduate (with no credit recovery and no academic ineligibility).
